Our only complaint is that there is no full length mirror and there's many options to put one in. The beds are very comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised to find that there are 2 bathrooms.

The Sand Castle Hotel was barely livable. It is shabby and run down. The carpet and furniture is dirty and probably 30 years old. The windows do not open, so no fresh air and it's a safety hazard. I do not recommend.

What a disappointing experience staying at this resort. Truly still waiting to receive a refund, experienced discrimination, bullying, name calling, harassment and it was just the worst. Only highlight was the main concierge lady, a Colombian older woman with a tattoo- she was the sweetest.

Timeshares and could be cleaner

This was a pleasant stay. The room was fine, not entirely clean - the baseboards had not been wiped down, and I doubt the square Sandcastle yellow pillows had been washed, ever? I was surprised that there was construction and renovation happening, and learned that a number of the units are timeshares, so that was unexpected. The indoor pool was wonderful, and access to the beach very convenient.

Even though property is old it can still be ok if rooms can have newer furniture, the bed felt like it was going to break. The furniture was sticky. The ac was dirty and you could see so much dust in it! The remote was super sticky. Won’t be staying here at all. This place needs a makeover asap!

Worn out and overpriced

The property is old and now very well maintained. As others have pointed out, the furniture is quite worn out and certainly could use a deep clean. Location-wise, unless you're willing to drive, bike or take an Uber everywhere, don't stay here because it's quite remote from the Ptown center and there aren't even sidewalks. The staff was very nice, though.

I contacted the manager of the property and was told that they cannot help me with my issues because I booked through Expedia….. the place was dirty and had other people‘s hair all over the bathroom. The electric was outdated. The Murphy bed was old and not shaped correctly. Your feet were 8 inches higher than your head so you needed to sleep in reverse. The two days I was there the room was not cleaned. Staff was arguing outside of our door and the front desk did not care with my dissatisfaction. The room was not equipped with air conditioning, and this is typically a summer rental.

Great Staff!

It was a mixed bag. The staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful, especially when I nearly lost my passport, and they deserve praise, and my room was clean. However, considering the lack of food amenities in their part of Provincetown, their food place should have longer hours and accept credit cards. Other than that, no complaints

I’ve been staying at Sandcastle for many years, but this last visit was by far the most disappointing. Our room was in terrible condition! The bathroom had peeling wallpaper, a stained countertop, and a persistent mildew smell. The TV didn’t work, and the remote was so sticky that even after trying to clean it, the glue-like residue wouldn’t come off. The freezer in the mini fridge kept acting up as well. Overall, the room felt neglected and falling apart. Normally, I would have asked for a different room, but when you’ve already traveled all the way to the Cape and everything else is booked, what’s the point? Even if we had gotten a refund, it would have taken 5–7 business days to see the money, which doesn’t help when you’re already on vacation. To make matters worse, we accidentally misunderstood the checkout time. Instead of a polite reminder, the manager banged on the door like a SWAT team leader and screamed at my friend. I understand we inconvenienced housekeeping, but it was an honest mistake — the aggressive way we were treated was unnecessary and unprofessional. I’ve always enjoyed staying here in the past, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, because as of now, I can’t recommend Sandcastle based on the condition of the room and the way we were treated.
