The staff was amazing! Mario was the best and i will come back to this resort the only thing I did not know and the only thing I didn't like was in the restaurants. You had to leave gratuity like if you were at a restaurant at home so I didn't like that. That was not included, but overall, an amazing place

Carlos at reception was always helpful and friendly. Alex in the ice cream and pizza shop was a great waiter. Marcelo was a great pool barteneder. Francisco was a wonderful waiter in Covina Italiana Restaurante. Alberto and Dulce were great mesero and mesera in the Grill. All in all the value for the price was terrific.

The friendly and helpful staff at Sunset Plaza is what sets it apart! The rooms are comfortable, but basic and a bit run down. The best part is that they all have an ocean-view balcony! There’s a small mini-fridge included, which is a perk. They also provide 2 bottles of water daily, basic toiletries and a few snacks and beverages in the room. There aren’t a lot of dining options, but the food is decent and easily-accessible (we didn’t have time to try their reservation-only restaurant). They have two pools, one for adults-only, which is appreciated. The views from the pools are amazing! The location is ideal for beach-lovers as you have direct access from the property. It’s also an inexpensive cab ride away from the airport and Romantic Zone restaurants / nightlife. We enjoyed our stay and would return!

The public spaces of this property is beautiful, however, our room was in need of maintenance. We booked a Deluxe Room. The bathroom shower contained mould, countertop needed repair, and paint was peeling around the toilet. The beds were quite comfortable, however, the furnishings looked tired, drawers not closing properly, chips along furniture edging. All that aside, the staff were wonderful, the food was good, and it was nice to have direct access to the beach!

This was our first experience with an all-inclusive resort. We were pleased to find the variety of food available, so we didn't have to always eat the same things (however some were so good we did). The facilities were beautiful and clean. Was fun being next to the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The staff were incredible…always pleasant and the couldn’t do enough for me. Food choices were plenty and excellent always Only thing missing that would be better is if the lobby bar had bar stools where you could sit

Pros: We got a room on the top floor in the newer building and it was absolutely stunning!! The views are breathtaking and possibly the prettiest sunset I've ever seen! Our butler Epi was very helpful and friendly, and SOME of the other employees and attentive servers too but NOT ALL! (specially the ladies,who won't smile at the guests which feels unwelcoming) The hotel was always clean and well kept, there are parts that can use updating/reno, but overall good. CONS: the food is mediocre, the breakfast and lunch menu never changes which will make you sick and tired of the dishes few days. They alternate the dinner menu, and both main restaurants serves decent fine dining meals. There is a pizza station which makes the best hawaiian pizza and the AlFresko which you can grab snacks from anytime. The drinks were a hit or miss depending on the bar tender assigned. MAJOR CON-- absolutely no enterntainment at night, we loved the calm and quiet vibe but we get jealous on how the hotel next door gives effort on doing some fun shows/activities for their guests. You can hear how people enjoys them too! Our room, although a bit newer needs some improvements too, the tub was not functional, there was no bidet and there's only one towel hook in the bathroom. OVERALL our experience was good but might choose to stay on a different hotel next time we're in Puerto Vallarta.
