Beautiful place & great people, but the elevator?

This was the second time I've stayed here - once for a writer's conference and another for a getaway. Gorgeous scenery and grounds. The staff here are amazing. The rooms? Great. But one thing is going to keep bringing down my rating: the broken elevators. Yes - there IS one working elevator, but for a busy weekend (at a conference center?) makes life inconvenient. Last year at the big conference, long lines for getting luggage up - or huffing and puffing at the stairs. This year? STILL not fixed. Come on - it can't be that hard. With another big conference coming up, and several for other groups, they need to know - and the hotel needs to do better. This isn't the Hilton way.

What an oasis we found in Virginia Crossings Hotel, after a multi-day drive on I-95. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms are clean, state of the art. A restaurant was open on the premises for dinner and another restaurant for breakfast. The staff brought Southern hospitality to mind. This stop will certainly make our top list from now on! Question: is his a business conference center?

Beautiful setting. The staff was very friendly. Yhe dinner at the restaurant was very good. The insides were tired looking though. Also no breakfast included there was a buffet for $17 so no real grab and go option.

Beautiful southern feel campus. A little rundown, elevator didn’t work. Wanted to get something basic to eat, chicken Cesar salad. Absolutely awful, threw some old lettuce in at bowl with dried chicken.
