We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Malaga airport many times and it is a great facility if you are flying in later in the day and want to wait until the next day before setting off in a hire car. The restaurant is open till midnight and serves excellent food for the money. The "Holiday Burger" is outstanding. Breakfast also good. Only downside is that there is really no pedestrian access from the airport, despite how close it is and you end up getting a taxi.
