Most Regency staff were extremely unfriendly and didn't attempt to help at all. When I booked through Expedia, I booked for 2 nights Jan 1- Jan 3. But my plans changed and modified the reservation through expedia to Jan 1- Jan 2. On the expedia website when I booked, price for Jan 1-Jan 2 - it was R$2166.91 and for Jan 2- Jan 3 it was R$1274.66 and taxes R$172.06. But my card was charged R$2275.26 and when I asked for explanation, none was given. Also, when I requested for towels to my room for showering, they said they dont have towels and didn't attempt to help. Their restaurant didn't have vegetarian options for dinner and neither were they flexible to make something for us. I have escalated the situation to Expedia travel department and still waiting for a resolution. The only advantage of this hotel is the proximity to christ the redeemer, sugarloaf and copacabana beach. otherwise wont recommend this to anyone.

The staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was roomy and clean. The breakfast was excellent, great variety and healthy food as well. I would definitely come back and would recommend.

Stay at this hotel only if you’re okay being jolted awake by early-morning construction. If low water pressure and sagging mattresses don’t bother you, then Park Regency might work for you. The lobby gives the illusion of a nice hotel, but the rooms tell a very different story. The worst part? BEDBUGS. When I reported it, I asked for a partial refund—reasonable, given the circumstances—but they refused. Their solution was a dinner voucher and access to a room for a few hours to store my luggage because I was checking out. Completely unacceptable. And shame on Hotels.com for offering zero support. They’re quick to take your money but nowhere to be found when there’s a real issue. After this experience, I won’t be using their platform again, and I strongly recommend others look elsewhere too.

We had a pleasant stay at the Regency Hotel. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by a variety of restaurants, making it super convenient for exploring Rio. Breakfast was a highlight, with a wide selection and good variety to suit different tastes. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, contributing to a restful stay. However, there was a minor issue with the washroom—a foul smell coming from the drainage, which we had to cover to manage. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something the hotel could improve. Overall, a good stay with great amenities and a prime location. Would recommend, especially for beach lovers and foodies.

It's a vintage hotel so not modern but the facilities work and I was comfortable. The elevator was ancient, accommodating only 4 persons so took the steps to come down to the lobby and only used the elevator to go up.
