Old fashioned hotel located in a former palace close to the Vatican. The hotel is in a nice quiet area, but very close to the sights of central Rome and to shopping and restaurants. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Leonardo was very accommodating. He explained the area upon arrival. Breakfast was good and the employee was really friendly. Really good location, quiet and cozy.

Hotel Farnese is a nice small hotel in a quiet area. It is an older property but it is kept in good condition and the staff are very friendly and helpful. A great convenience is the included breakfast; it is buffet style and they provide a good variety of options (i.e. more than a 'continental breakfast'). Also, the hotel is close enough to the popular tourist spots that we walked to them. Most were a 20-30 minute walk. The only time we took a taxi was when we went to the Colosseum. Our stay was for six nights and we are quite happy with our hotel choice.

The decor inside was a bit tired. The plumbing needs updating. Everytime the toiket was flushed, it made such a liud noice when filling up the water tank. There was no visable or obvious fure escape route fron the breakfast area on the roof terrace.

This hotel is best avoided; it felt like a dungeon. Our room had an unpleasant smell and was plagued with mold. The surroundings were dated, and the aging AC couldn't adequately cool the room. When we requested a refund, the manager showed a complete lack of concern. Consequently, we decided to leave, incurring a loss of 250 Euro. We hope that Expedia will assist us in resolving this matter.
