I was trapped in the bathroom of my room! The pocket door got stuck and I had to be let out. The door is warped or something. I had to leave the bathroom door open. I was surprised and disappointed that the hotel does not have complementary coffee in the morning. I could hear the people next door talking, even though they weren't being loud. The freeway and other outside noises were very noticeable in the room. The elevators were incredibly slow and there weren't enough of them. I went up and down the stairs and noticed the same people still waiting for the elevator.

"My recent experience at DoubleTree by Hilton in San Diego was incredibly disappointing, largely due to the management. I booked online with Expedia a King Jr Suite which was advertised as King Executive Suite online. The pictures online showed 2 rooms with 2 separate beds but they gave me a room with one king bed. In the pictures online it showed 2 rooms with 2 beds, in person it was only one room with one bed. When we mentioned to David one of the customer service reps at the front disk he apologized and said that he will talk to the management and that it’s false advertising on their end. He said he will talk to front desk manager in the morning and he will gave us a room with a door in between. In the morning when I went downstairs and checked with the front desk manager Sam Cr…., he was dismissive and rushed through our conversation, leaving me feeling unheard and unsatisfied. After we went out for the day and returned I went back to the front desk to check with the hope thinking that Sam must have either changed our room or got us a King Executive. I was more disappointed to see how the lady on April 26th treated me. She was ok at first but as soon as she got in touch with Sam their manager she told us that there is nothing that they can and would do for us. She was extremely rude and had very poor customer service. I would not recommend this hotel and I would not even give them a one star. I am very unsatisfied and unhappy. Will not book at this place again.

I stayed in junior suite and there was mothing sweet about it, couches were ripped and stained with crumbs of who knows what, carpet has visible stains of who knows what, the shower wouldnt turn off or stop leaking, the pool had so much trash in it from the debris of the trees which i even cleaned out myself but the floor was also covered in debris and seemed no one takes careos of... the front desk staff was kind and courteous i will say that. The front entrance is nice and elegant but it disguised truly what the rooms look like... over all it was a horrible stay i must say, the double tree was a big let down...

I chose this place because I wanted to check out Torrey Pines Nature Reserve. It’s not like right on the beach, you’ll need transportation or take an Uber, but it was a convenient short drive under the freeway to get there. And I can’t say enough about Torrey Pines. Loved all the trails especially the “Beach Trail” and “Razor Point”. It was also a short enough drive to get back to the general San Diego area. I also liked that check out was at 12, the pool was heated so we still were able to use it in April and the staff was very friendly. The location seems like there is not much around but if you search grocery stores like I did, Ralph’s comes up a couple miles away and I was pleasantly surprised to see a whole fancy strip mall type set up just down the road with several stores and dining. It was convenient that you can eat there if you like. We only did breakfast. I like my free food so at least a complimentary breakfast option would have made things better but it wasn’t outrageously priced. Parking was fair for $25 a day considering some places charge more. Overall I was pleased with my pick. I also appreciated that they gave me Hilton Honors points even though I booked through Expedia.

I had a nice stay overall but it wouldve been 5 stars if they also provide personal toiletries like dental kit, complementary coffee/coffee maker and water. The water bottle they charge at $3 each and only free for platinum members.
