Super nice hotel. LOCATION IS PERFECT! Right next to EVERYTHING. Train station right across the street and take it anywhere from downtown to mission bay. Super easy.

Wonderful! Will visit again!

We had a great stay at Marriott Marquis. It was centrally located and within walking distance to the Gaslamp quarter, Downtown, Petco Park, Seaport Village & Rady Shell. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I appreciated the room being cleaned daily, which is something a lot of hotels don't offer anymore. We had a bay view room with a balcony...definitely worth the extra money! Hope, who works at the front desk checked us in and out. She was very friendly, sweet and accommodating. She started our stay on the right foot! Most of the employees we interacted with were very pleasant. The pool is large & resort style. The lights and fire pits at night are just beautiful! The gym is large and clean, though several machines weren't working My only gripes are the self parking (it is really, really tight and hard to get in and out if you have a larger car) and the rude bartenders at the Agave grill by the pool. We went there three times over 5 days and each time the bartenders were rude to everyone. Not sure what their problem was? Other than that, we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

The elevators are a mess during peak times. Expect 15 minutes or more waiting during check out time. They also need to be clear about the accessibility of comps (bike rentals are available between 8am - 8pm only). Understandable but wish it was stated on the ticket.

I really liked the location—being able to walk to Seaport Village, the USS Midway, Petco Park, and the entire Gaslamp area was a big plus. The pool looked nice, though my trip was short and I didn’t get a chance to swim. The gym was also very well-equipped. My room had a partial ocean and city view, which was great. It was quiet the first night, but the second night I heard some banging from the room above. A couple of small room-related issues: the refrigerator was noisy at night, and the bathroom light automatically turned on when entering—which isn’t ideal when you get up during the night. Bed was good. The restaurants on-site were expensive and didn’t offer many gluten-free options. I also wasn’t thrilled about the resort fees—I don’t travel often, so I forget how quickly all those extras add up.
