I am very very disappointed in this hostel. There were no actual door locks. The property is old and not in good repair and worst of all is that my mattress smelled very strongly of cat urine. Really! They tried to cover it up by hanging a toilet bowl sanitizer on the wall of the room. I removed it because the fumes were overwhelming. Also... they rent rooms by the hour! Yikes. It was the worst experience for me in a hotel/hostel, and I am a world wide traveller and often opt for economical accommodations. I would never recommend this place.

Don't do it!

Lots and lots of noise. I went out and bought ear plugs to finally get some sleep. Barest of accommodations.. Window is open to the street, many buses go buy producing lots of diesel exhaust to breath.

We paid expedia for reservation, but the hostal

We paid expedia for reservation, but the hostal did not know we were coming. Their only remaining space was a noisy, closet, with a cot, but no windows, or bath. This is the third time we have demanded our money back from expedia. They let us down and we will never use them again.

Basico pero amable

Bueno por el precio. Puerta tras una fila por parade de bus pero bien ubicado en cnetro de San Jose. Debe amar a los gatos! Hay cinco. No hay desayunos ni campo para comsumirle. Satisfecho y gracias.
