The perfect place to stay and get a good rest, and then hit the local dining and bars. Beautiful history surrounds this place and I’m so happy we chose Hugo’s. Uber is your best friend , but we did rent a car and were lucky enough to find street parking. If street parking is not available, a parking garage is available 24 hrs at a decent price. Thank you for your hospitality, we can’t wait to return and stay again.

We are frequent visitors to the island and this was our first time to stay with Hugo’s. The property was amazing! Everything was super clean and welcoming. Our unit was the studio on the top floor so it was a bit of a trek up all the stairs with our luggage, but well worth it once we settled in! Everything was very quiet - no noise even being next to the plaza and multiple shops and restaurants. The property was very prompt and responsive with check in detail and answering a few questions for us. The location is wonderful especially if you are being dropped off by uber or taxi. Walkability in OSJ is fantastic. We enjoyed it so much we changed our August accommodations to here! Thank you again!

I just returned from my first visit to Puerto Rico. I can’t give enough kudos to Maricruz the proprietor of Hugo’s. She welcomed us, and was prompt with communication. She even helped us find reliable transportation for our excursion. It’s not a fancy place, but was clean and had the down home kind of vibe that I prefer. Excellent location and hospitality. I’m so grateful. Thank you Maricruz! She was a Godsend.

This is the nice place in old San Juan near the Colon monument. Absolutely quiet inside. Clean, safe.... Some rooms have no windows ( it is quiet), another have and you may be will hire the street (I`m not sure). You no need to contact to personnel for check in, but if will wish -this is not a problem.

It is centrally located in Old San Juan. The property owners were very quick to respond to any and all questions or concerns. We have the rooftop, Room 12, which is not recommended if are not fit. The room could be more secure if there was a deadbolt for both entry doors. I would definitely stay here again! But…I’ll take Room 7 next time!

Excellent place in old San Juan. Loved the property. Only issue was not knowing the hot/cold water is reversed from what we was used to( figured that out just before we left). Walkable to the port for cruises. We was able to walk around old San Juan and the old fort before we boarded. The hotel safely held our luggage so we could explore

Very Good location!

Hugo’s Rental is very convenient, walkable to most places in Old San Juan. Very close to the port we we had our cruise ship docked…practically walked 12 mins. Easy access even when we checked in late at night. The neg…there was a water drip from the ceiling. Bathroom had little amenities. No TV (but who needs one anyway when on vacation). I felt a little sand on our bed. Space is too small for 2 big and 2 carryon luggages. But I like the place!

Will Definitely Be Back!

The place is absolutely gorgeous inside! We loved all the plants on the 2nd floor and the rooftop access overlooking Plaza Colon is stunning. The owner, Maricruz, was very helpful and responsive. The location was the best part, within walking distance of everywhere in Old San Juan, directly in front of Plaza Colon and Fort San Cristobal. Beautiful! We can’t wait to go back! I highly recommend this hotel!

Clean, safe and quiet but in the middle of a historic square. Easy walking to all historic sights, restaurants, shops and local beach. Great communication with owner. Wide variety of rooms. Free, secure and convenient luggage storage through owner. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
