Our most notable concern was lack of responsiveness on the property manger's part when the home was without water for over 6 hours. We contacted Ruben and reported we had no running water and he replied Region Metro was working on the problem implying the water outage was a neighborhood concern. Thereafter, we found out Ruben lied to us as neighbors on either side had fully running water. Ruben was unresponsive until several hours later and repeated texts from us. He asked two members of the party to climb a ladder in the dark to fix a float in the water tank. Luckily, we have family in the trades who were able to understand his instructions; however, the onus to fix a property defect should have never been on us. Ruben never followed up. We were a party of 13 with 5 children. We spent that day on the beach and at least half of the party went to bed without showers. One child threw up with no resources to clean the child. We had to flush the toilets with buckets of pool water and had to cancel our dinner plans. Under the circumstances and considering this was a situation the property manager should have been equipped to quickly resolve, we asked Ruben for reasonable compensation for the inconvenience. He ghosted us. It was good until is wasn't.
