Really nicely located and beautifully designed. It’s got such great charm and is pretty central in Old San Juan, it was easy for us to walk around to all the things we had planned in the area. Honestly loved everything about the place and wish we had more time there, the staff was very friendly. There was a small, occasional leak above the bathroom doorway but it wasn’t bad and didn’t lessen anything about our stay. It’s an older building so some small things like that are to be expected, but it’s beautifully kept up, so no complaints from me.

We love the history and charm of this place. Have been here before. Location is central but off the beaten trail. Given howw close to Fortaleza we feel very safe. We can walk everywhere in OSJ in an easy effort. OSJ is one of our favorite destinations.

We were charmed by the history, artwork, and the atmosphere of Villa Herencia. It was a fun bonus to soak in the rooftop claw foot bath tubs on the lovely roof top deck in the evening! If you are looking for a small historic boutique hotel in the heart of Old San Juan, look no more! We also recommend taking the elevator to the 6th floor of the sister hotel, Casa Blanca, to take in the views.

I loved that the hotel was smack dab in the middle of Old San Juan. The architecture and cultural vibe of the hotel was very authentic. The hotel had everything I needed. As a solo traveler I was safe and secure. My room, the classic queen, was small, perfect for one, would’ve been a bit tight with two. Outlets were sparse (as expected in a building several hundred years old) and the Flat screen TV didn’t work great. Staff was friendly and welcoming *****.

The property is quiet and out of the busy areas when the cruise ships are in port. It is safe and has a locked front door with a code used by the guests. Lovely and very Old World San Juan. Only thing is that the upstairs room to the left could use a new mattress. Other than that, it’s a great walkable hotel close to many attractions and restaurants.

We stayed at this property back in 2017 and so we wanted to come back as it was a nice property. Since then they stopped serving breakfast and the staff is not even on the property 24 hours.It feels like you are not staying at hotel but rather a persons house. They need bring back the breakfast, have someone there 24 hours and have the staff be more friendly

Love the hotel. It is an old building so it doesn't have the sterile environment that modern buildings have, but it has a charm that can't be beat. The bed wasn't very comfortable, though. I can overlook that in view of the charm, location, the hard work of the cleaning lady. I'd stay there again if I go back to San Juan. 15-minute walk to the port. 3-minute walk to the red gate and the path that leads below and around the fortress. There is a park a few doors up the street where you can relax and sit and contemplate life.
