An exquisite stay. The best breakfast of our trip so far (local cheese, homemade jams). Rooms are large, immaculate and tasteful. Situated right on the town square, moments from bars and restaurants. Hosts attentive, friendly and accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Chic & Quaint Right in the Center or Sancerre

This place is gorgeous. It is done in a very chic style, but also very very comfortable. The host was incredibly warm and kind, and the breakfast was delicious with warm croissants and a wide array of food. I cannot recommend it enough.

La Place B&B Sancerre is the perfect home away from home. I felt totally at ease and so happy in this beautiful and stylish accommodation. Every room is artfully decorated and exudes relaxation. I love how the house, while completely renovated still holds memories of the past. We stayed in room number 5 and it was very spacious with a dreamy huge comfortable bed, a lovely sitting area, and a large, well appointed bathroom. Our host, Ophélie, was so very gracious and a delight to converse with. I adored the breakfast she presented in the cave: lots of delectable choices and so fun to chat with the other travelers there. La Place is located on the town square, within steps of wonderful restaurants, wine tastings, shops, and a fun walking tour around this amazing old town. Find the tourist office a block away where they will set you up with a link to direct you to each historical site. Besides taking in this incredible town and area, a 45-minute drive through the gorgeous countryside got us to Guédelon Castle, a medieval recreation that is super fascinating. It was so nice to come back to La Place B&B and I didn’t want to leave. In fact, it’s one of my all-time favorite places I have ever stayed. Merci beaucoup, Ophélie and Thibault!

A perfect place in Sancerre

Having booked & stayed on our outbound trip, we had no hesitation in booking for our return & this time for two nights. It is a lovely place right in the centre of Sancerre with all the restaurants & attractions on your doorstep. The facilities are first class & the hosts are lovely, accommodating, personable but professional in their approach. We will not hesitate to book here again in the future.

We had such a lovely stay at La Place B&B. The location couldn’t be better as it’s right in the center of the village, a few steps to all Sancerre has to offer, including restaurants and shops and great views of the valley and the surrounding vineyards. It’s an old house that was completely renovated with great taste. The staff and breakfast were also great. Highly recommend!

La Place in Sancerre was wonderful! We went on a family girls’ trip to Sancerre and La Place greatly exceeded our expectations. Ophelie and her husband were lovely hosts, and the property was beautiful. We booked two rooms, both were clean, spacious and had modern bathrooms. The common areas were well appointed, inviting and morning breakfast in the “la cave cellar” was excellent. The property has five guestrooms and is a fully restored home, the prior home to Ophelie’s grandmother. It is in the heart of the downtown Sancerre square. It was easy to walk around the town and the town had spectacular views, restaurants, and shops. We booked on Expedia, and all worked out great. One note, we took the train from Paris to Tracy Sancerre, the ride was just under two hours. The train was easy and very convenient but when you get to Tracy Sancerre, there is nothing: no station, no taxis, no Ubers 😊 and no people. The closest restaurant was over a mile away and we had luggage. A rookie tourist mistake. A special Thank You to Ophelie, I called her to help us with a Taxi and none were available. She sent her husband to pick us up, he arrived with a smile, grabbed our luggage, and loaded them into the van. He drove us to the B&B which was about six miles away and we had a glass of Sancerre in our grasp within 10 minutes of arriving! If we have the fortune to return, we will pre-book a taxi and book at La Place again! Merci Beaucoup Ophelie and La Place!

I’m not a Bed and Breakfast type traveler, I normally prefer big hotels where you know what to expect in terms of comfort and space. But in visiting Sancerre, this is not an option. I found La Place Sancerre online and booked it. I was so happy I did. It is an absolutely darling B&B. The young couple owners inherited the property by a grandparent and then spent the next couple years renovating it to perfection. This is like walking into someone’s modern yet completely charming home. The finishes are beautiful and high quality and the room we had was spacious with a balcony overlooking the town square. We were met by the owners who offered us a complimentary glass of Sancerre (of course) welcome drink. The next morning the owners made a delicious breakfast and even made arrangements for a local wine tour and tasting for us. Although we only stayed one night, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and tell everyone to visit La Place Sancerre.
