Suva is situated on a peninsula along Laucala Bay, which we reckon is one of the most beautiful places on Earth! Don’t take our word for it—just go see for yourself. The peninsula is quite hilly, so bust out your trail mix and take advantage of the great hiking in Colo-I-Suva Forest Park. If you prefer to stay in town, make sure you check out central Suva, which has plenty of awesome architecture. We’ve also got to recommend a stop at Thurston Gardens, Fiji’s botanic wonderland. The gardens are full of native flora and fauna—wander around, sit on a bench, breathe in the sweet tropical air and recharge for your next adventure.
If you're in Suva for New Year's, celebrate with fireworks and a huge street festival in Albert Park. On rainy days—and there's bound be some here in the tropics—you can look into Wotif’s Suva car hires so you can check out the island at your own pace (and stop for food whenever you want!).
For the best shopping in town, head to the western edge of the city, where you'll find the market and wharf. Since Suva also features a large surf culture, you'll find brick and mortar shops for some of the largest international surf brands—here’s where you can stock up on new swimsuits to really get you in holiday mode. There's also the Suva Municipal Market, which has plenty of great produce stalls and other fresh foods and exotic goods. You wouldn’t think about going on holiday and not bringing back gifts for your mates, right? Here’s where you’ll find them.
When it comes to dining, you'll probably want to head to Victoria Parade, home to most of the city's best restaurants, including small eateries serving up local dishes—kokodo anyone? Suva holidays aren’t complete without checking out the downtown culinary scene, which is filled with delicious curry houses and fresh seafood spots. Are you a night owl in search of the next big party? Suva doesn't disappoint when it comes to nightlife and entertainment options, and downtown is certainly the best place to start. Head to Victoria Parade Road or Scott Street for the best nightclubs. We aren’t kidding; Suva’s nightlife is so legendary, visitors often come from neighbouring islands to dance and party. Are you game?
Whether you're taking a family trip, romantic getaway, group holiday or traveling solo, our Suva holiday packages help you make the most out of your time in Suva. Would you rather explore another area of Fiji? One of our Sigatoka holiday packages is just the thing you need to get to escape the ordinary. No matter where you end up, start your search on Wotif and book your getaway today—the tropics are calling your name.
