The evening manager of the this property was dishonest and rude. My reservation for the busy move in weekend at UTampa was made in May. I phoned the hotel on the evening of my arrival to inform them that I would be arriving at 10p. The receptionist confirmed my reservation and stated she had my room and would see me soon. I had already been charged the full amount to my credit card. I had received a welcome message through the Expedia App earlier that day. 5 minutes later, the “manager” called me back and informed me that my room had been cancelled the previous day, my money refunded (it was a pay on arrival), and that Expedia had oversold their hotel and had been informed the day prior. This was all untrue. She would not allow me to ask a question, just repeated her dishonest story over and over. At 9p in a busy Friday night, I was left with no hotel for me and my family in a busy city. Thank goodness for Expedia, who made things right and agreed that the hotel must have given my room to a higher bidder.

The property did have a sewer stench as soon as walked inside of the hotel. The hostess informed us that they had a sewer issue that was being fixed; however, the smell made its way to the 9th floor hallway but never into our room. We spent most of our time away from the hotel, althogh, it doesn't excuse the the fact of the smell. Overall, our stay was great. The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. The location was great also.
