Restaurants, bars and galleris are aplenty as you wander along the shore with the waves gently lapping at your feet. And if you like to beachcombe, each new tide will deliver all sorts of treats for those with sharp eyes for gathering the harvest. Across the river into teignmouth will increase the tempo slightly, with cinema, theatre, shopping and even more beaches. If you are detemined not to relax, then boat hire, scuba diving, wind surfing, and all manner of sea related fun is right there for the taking.

Overlooking the passers by, the master bedroom will nestle your senses in Georgian splendour and calm. Up the narrow winding Dickensian stairs with hints of Oliver Twist, is the attic bedroom called the Crows' Nest.
