I've used Motel6 The Dalles once or twice a year for several years. The motel is basic but very well maintained. The hard flooring in the rooms greatly aids cleanliness and neatness. The air conditioner was very effective and reasonably quiet, which is a good thing because The Dalles is hot, dry and windy throughout the summer. The pool is small but has a clear glass enclosure to protect from the wind. Check in and check out went smoothly. I have no complaints; for a reasonable price, you get a clean well-maintained room.

Absolutely horrific! My oldest son and I were transporting my youngest son and his vehicle to his permanent base in Spokane, WA. We had to stop in the Dalles on our way home to get some rest. We ended up getting in around 1:00am and we were beat as it was a very long day and we just wanted to get in and lay our heads down on our beds at this point!! The man at the front desk was very nice, and I do want to let this be known. He was very accommodating the whole time I dealt with the this hotel and you could tell he was embarrassed. He set my son and I up with a room on the second floor right in the middle and after we dropped the car and trailer off we walked back to our room. My son opened the door, turned the lights on, dropped our bags, and yelled “cockroaches!” I was directly behind him and seen them myself scurrying along in disbelief and yelled back to my son in horror “pick up our bags!” This is not what anyone wants to be dealing with at 2:30 in the morning, let alone a single momma with only her son. The front desk was willing to give our money back, in fact didn’t act shocked at all. But since we had reserved through the app he couldn’t do anymore. Once I tried to cancel the charges, my bank froze my card thinking it was fraud
