Staff were friendly. Place was clean. A good cafe on the main floor - good breakfast and great coffee. The place was nicely decorated with local artwork. The room itself was very small with none of the usual amenities (mini-fridge, water, coffee, etc), and the desk was tiny - not great to work at. The heating system seemed either inadequate or very old...the floors were absolutely freezing, with the bathroom particularly painful to walk on, yet the air was hot and stuffy. The heater ran full tilt most of the time and it was very loud, drowning out the TV.

Very slow check in process, not necessarily fault of staff as we checked in after a late flight. The room was small and not very well insulated on one side. This meant the fan turning on full blast at various times in the night. Also the shower took ten minutes for me to figure out, as it looked to be designed by a steam punk industrial design team. Whimsical yet impractical. I felt like I was trying to drive a steam train in 1930. I would not recommend to others as a choice for accommodation near Union Station.

The room was spotless and the staff were courteous and alway seemed to be cleaning all over the building. Our only suggestion, is to have a few shelves or a drawer or two for non hangable clothing. Can't beat the location. Will definitely look into the spot again next time we are go to TO.

It was okay. Nothing special. A lot of issues at check in. I booked a king room and they tried to give me a queen. Then they put my credit card number on someone else’s room and I had to spend so much time trying to sort it. Rooms are tiny and halls are noisy and there is no sound controls for hall noise.

The location was perfect as we were transferring to and from Union Station. The front desk staff were very attentive and helpful. The casual and welcoming entrance/ breakfast area was spacious and the coffee and breakfast was great.

Nice refurbished hotel (former “Strathcona Hotel” made hip and retro) very close to Union Station. Comfortable bed, and a nice coffee lounge in the lobby. My only complaint was the noise - there is zero soundproofing so you can hear every door slam, every conversation in the hallway, and all the street noise outside. I wore earplugs the 2nd night. Overall a nice hotel for the price and convenient downtown location.
