Hotel should be gutted and fixed

Hotel is run down and it need of repairs. The shower gets boiling hot and does not gwt any cooler no matter how much you turn it down. Hotel also has a strange smell in the lobby. Luckily this was not smelt in the room. Tv is only over the air channels and worthless. The worst part was the bed was rockhard and made it hard to sleep. I could forgive everything else if the bed was usable and i was able to sleep ok.

Check-in was super smooth. The hotel is extremely dated. I was given information for WiFi, but my laptop wouldn’t connect to any of the secure networks. When I asked the front desk about it on Saturday, I was told to “go somewhere else” in the hotel. What? Where am I supposed to go? In the end, I was forced to use my personal hotspot so that I wasn’t connecting via an unsecured network. The bed was decent, but I’m more of a soft bed person. The shower was awkward. Yesterday, I was able to take a nice shower (unable to take a bath as the “lock” to the tub), but this morning the water was scalding even at the lowest setting.

Very helpful staff. I was especially impressed with Denise at Wilbur's Grill. I wanted a light snack in the evening. She served me a cup of chicken rice soup and saltines with butter! It felt so homey! The hotel has been around awhile and could use some updates, but I was comfortable and.enjoyed my stay.

I recently stayed there for 3days. Rooms very old & outdated. Carpet stained, bed frame held up by a brick, bathroom dirty and stained, body hair in the shower, tile filth. Obviously housekeeping department is NOT!!! doing their job. Informed front desk, OK was the response. Nice hotel exterior, first floor, and good breakfast. Too bad the rooms were extremely disappointing.

I have been staying at Viscount since the late 80s and early 90s, and, even though you can tell it is an old hotel, it is still a great place to stay. Very convenient location, friendly staff, good breakfast, big room.

There was nothing unique about it. The rooms were old and in desperate need of updates and cleaning. There were people smoking on our floor and the whole floor smelled like smoke. Our bathroom was very stinky, smelled like mildew. The tub was leaking water. We never had room service in the 3 days we were there. The staff was very friendly and continental breakfast was good. The bathroom really needed ventilation but there was no fan.
