The hotel is spectacular with its history and decoration you feel very special from arriving on the entrance from the dock on the Grand canal. The hotel is really beautifully decorated, keeping up with Venizian style, spacious and clean. The reason for lower rating are the following: 1/no complementary water in the room (small water bottles available in mini bar for €8!). Water is such a basic necessity I would have expected from a 5* hotlel, 2/ no kettle not coffee machine in rooms, 3/ Cleaning staff was entering our room every evening without knocking and didn't speak English.

The hotel is lovely with many unique features. The room was clean, comfortable, well appointed. The Sagredo family house from which the hotel is created is from the 17th century- amazing architecture and decor.

I loved the location of the hotel. The staff was pretty friendly and they helped us get a water taxi on a day of a strike to make it to the train on time. Breakfast was not included in our stay and the breakfast buffet option seemed a little overpriced for what it was but the space where breakfast was served was beautiful. Overall we really enjoyed the hotel.
