Generally ok stay. Rooms are tired but function ok, including the much needed air conditioning, but a single usable socket in a room? No air con in public areas in evening. One lift out of action. Maid knocked door at 8-45am on day of leaving and key blocked whilst we were at breakfast even though check out 11am. Ok but not great.

Receptionists were nice and helpful. Hotel is very dated. There was mold in the tub/shower. It was hard to get into the tub/shower because the side was so high. Adapters wouldn’t stay in the outlets because they were so loose. Bed was VERY uncomfortable. Room was very warm by American standards—never got temp below 24.6 degrees Celsius. TWICE employees tried to enter our room unannounced—once to confirm that custodial service had been performed and once to check the a/c. No knocking—just tried to barge in. Breakfast was great—lots of choices. Location is far from main sights in comparison to other hotels. Would not stay here again.

This is way below what you would expect a 4* hotel. The place is run down. The bathroom in the room was disgusting with toothpaste marks from previous customers, horrible green mould around the bath, roof panels falling off and simply not acceptable. When we asked about this at reception they said all the rooms were the same. Really not good value for money.

I loved the patio area next to the canal and the cool breeze due to the mountain waters. It was beautiful! The lobby of the hotel was completely an amazing place too. Very good front desk staff and easy checkin and checkout! Very nice big and very clean room - and mine had a great view. Windows are double pane to cut down the noise of a nearby major street. View from my window was looking out towards the farmland and industry. Very soft bed! Good TV channels! And great shower and bathroom. Very good value!!! My issues were that the Italian government did not allow hotels to run AC until mid May - and it was hot. Keeping windows open meant you got the noise from the street. The other issue was location, and in day and early evening it is not a problem - but two dark spots and the tunnel beneath the railroad are not great places very late night between hotel and the old city gate. Crossing the major roadway is easy - just waiting for the lights at the pedestrian walk, but it is a walk into the city.

Despite the modern outside looks of the hotel, the room was very basic. Plain walls without any decorations, a cheap and uncomfortable spring mattress and thin pillows. Parking was a complicated matter and is an extra 18 Euros a day. The most positive of the stay was a generous included breakfast with delicious options.

The hotel is close to the Porta Nuova train station. I liked the river flowing outside with the water features. There was some nice seating outside as well but as my stay was brief I didn't get a chance to explore most of the facilities. Breakfast was a bit chaotic with difficulties getting a small table for single person. The bed in the room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and clean.
