Comfy home opp Gilmour Lake.

‘Lakewood 5’ is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, very comfortable home built in 2014. The tinted bi-fold doors are north facing and open onto the deck. East facing ranch sliders look out to Gilmour Lake and you can bbq out here while watching the sun set. The lounge has a Smart TV, DVD, CD’s for you pleasure and the heat pump in the cooler months will keep you nice and cosy and warm.

Behind Gilmour Lake and within 500 metres of the house is the Blackhill walking/clyce track. If you are into the outdoors then the Karangahake Gorge is just a short distance and the walking/tramping tracks around Waihi and Dickies Flat are definitely worth the effort. Waihi has the only working open cast mine that is in the middle of a town in New Zealand and also has a walking/cycle track around the circumference and is about 1 km from the house.

Not to mention Waihi Beach, 10 km of white sands and Pacific Ocean. By car it is only 10 minutes away. A beautiful beach and small village with eateries aplenty to wet your appetite especially after all that exercise!!! Waihi Beach has one of the biggest RSA’s in the land and the view is to die for.

Waihi is only 40 minutes to our nearest city – Tauranga and only 1 and a half hours to Auckland so we really are in the hub of things.

Don’t delay, book now for that weekend away to explore all that Waihi and its surrounding areas has to give.

Excellent family stay

The hosts were an awesome couple who communicated well with us, their place is clean and meticulous. Their place is ideally located close to all amenities (shops, fuel, restaurants, etc..), there is a lovely park and hike to explore and in close proximity to the beaches. John was a real hit with my 11 year old who became his assistant bird feeder. Their garden is spectacular and any nature lover would get lost in there alone, viewing the beautiful variety of plants, butterflies and bees. Thank you to the host for the use of their place.. They were kind and hospitable.

A lovely home.

This place is immaculate. It is easy to feel ‘at home’ straight away. Everything we needed was there and the hosts were very helpful. Close to town and also to the lake. Waihi beach less than 10 minutes away and others not much further. The Hauraki Rail Trail so close. It was quiet and all in all, a great place to stay.

Cosy and clean home for a family weekend getaway

We had a warm welcome by the owners. The house was clean and tidy and has everything you need for a weekend away. We also enjoyed the garden which especially our daughter loved to explore. The neighbourhood was friendly and quiet. Just a short trip by car and you can be at the beach or in karangahake gorge. We can highly recommend it!

Lovely home and gardens with great outdoor deck area. We were lucky enough to stay when Xmas lights were still up which were very pretty. Short 20min drive to Waihi Beach and close to Waihi main town centre so perfect place for us to stay.

Waihi stay

Brenda and John welcomed us into their home on arrival and explained all we needed to know. They were very friendly and helpful and left the house clean with the fridge empty and a large space in the cupboard for our groceries. We didn't mist days at the beach, but the trip there from the house first take long. The little cul-de-sac the house sits in is quiet and dark at night, great for a restful night.
