We booked two rooms. One was ready at check in. The other wasn’t ready until an hour after check in time. Each time I went to ask they would say “20 more minutes, housekeeping is working in it” and I would set a timer and go back and it would still not be ready. In the end the second room was 2 doors down from the first room and we had actually witnessed housekeeping finish with the room just as we checked into the first room. Baffling. The second issue I have with this hotel is the doors. Every time anyone let their room door close it was like a cannon being fired in the hallway. These were the loudest doors I have ever heard in any hotel in my life. Housekeeping seemed to have perfected a way to make them close with an even louder explosion. And they seemed to roam the halls opening and closing doors at random and making sure no one slept late or took an afternoon nap. Overall it could be a nice hotel if they’d fix the doors.

I liked the location and it was clean. It needs updating as it is very old and run down looking. There was a dead rat outside the hotel for days. I didn't love that we had to go outside to the next building for breakfast.

Great Stay

Enjoyed our stay. The service was wonderful. Our bags were stored for us, and we were able to check in early. The hotel seemed older so general wear and tear.

Overpriced, overrated, outdated

The hotel is overpriced, overrated, outdated. There was no working door in the bathroom. Water in the bathroom sink was not draining well, and the facet was not properly fixed. The blanket had a hole on it. The coffee machine was not working. Breakfast - a very poor selection and the breakfast room crowded. We ended up having breakfast in the nearby cafe. The only positive side of our stay was the location of the hotel, and the valet parking provided. I will not recommend this hotel, and will not stay there again.

Couldn’t go get breakfast because there was a huge dead rat outside the building. Ruined any thought of eating there. Doors of hotel rooms close very loudly. Heard every room door through the night. Bright lighting in hallways shone under door. Queen size bed seemed more like a full size.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel during the peak bloom of cherry blossom. The location is close to National mall in the beautiful quiet residential area. A short uber ride from Union station. Though I wish there is a public transportation option. A. The room looks like a converted from apartment building, which is nice and cozy with a bathtub and it was clean and tastefully decorated. Equipped with Keurig coffee machine and a microwave and a mini fridge. A . There are coffee, tea and cucumber and spa water in the lobby the whole time. A . The only meh was breakfast. We had to go out of the building to the next door. The omelet and potatoes were meh. Bagles, toasts, bacon and Turkey sausage may have been good, but there were not enough healthy breakfast options for me. B-. I also loved the fact about the free rental bike with a lock. A . The bike itself was very uncomfortable and almost dangerous to ride. C That’s why it’s 4 starts overall. It was almost perfect with a few kinks. I would stay again and hope breakfast and the bikes will be better next time.

I chose this place solely based on reviews and location. I was so happy to see pretty flowers blooming outside the window. The mattress is firm and the blanket is heavy. If you like this, I hope this helps. The free breakfast is simple but sufficient.

The facility was very nice. Clean, tidy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They offer valet parking because parking is crazy but thankfully I found a spot right by the hotel. The hotel is also in walking distance of the capital and library of congress as well as close access to the metro. The breakfast they offered was actually quite good. Better quality than a lot of other places. The only thing I didn’t like was the air vent in the room was right next to the bed. Whenever air came out it blew right at the bed making it difficult for the individual closest to the air vent to sleep. Overall nice place to stay. Close to a lot of things. Would come back.
