We had to switch rooms when we arrived due to being right next to a construction site, that is the reason for my 4/5 stars. The concierge was very gracious and moved us to an immensely better room that was cleaner and closer to the beach entrance. My partner and I loved the close proximity to the beach, the food options within the kontiki continuum, the proximity to mambo beach and other local food options (especially berry the bliss for breakfast, check them out). The area around the hotel was a little run down / underdeveloped, as is a good amount of the island, but it didn’t cause any disturbance or inconvenience to our trip. Thank you so much to everyone at the concierge for helping us book our taxi services every night and round trip airport transfers. Thank you to housekeeping for maintaining our room everyday. Thank you to guest service staff for helping us with the coffee machine in the lobby and carrying our bags. Thank you Kontiki!

room was very nice. beach is very pretty. dining and bar service is terrible. no indoor dining options. routinely takes over and hour to get food. sitting at an empty bar with multiple bartenders would take 15 minutes before they acknowledge you’re even there. extremely loud music plays until after midnight making it impossible to sleep. the tv in the room is set to max brightness and is not able to be adjusted making it painful to watch with the lights off. VIP beach experience is bad,

While I loved this resort here are my pros and cons. PROS •Beautiful grounds and beach •Restaurants are near by and walkable on Mambo Beach •Staff was friendly and helpful •Clean rooms CONS •No washcloths in Superior room •No real ventilation in the bathroom in superior room only if you open the window •Bedding could be better(it is 2 twin beds put together to make a king and only a flat sheet no fitted sheet or mattress pad)

I loved my stay at the Kontiki beach resort. Stayed on the non-luxury side and it was beautiful. The landscape, pathways and pools are beautiful, relaxing and private. My only warning to other guests would be that on certain nights of the week that you won’t really know about in advance, you can hear very loud music from the bars on the beach and it goes till about 12 AM to 1 AM. Older than that, this resort really is beautifully appointed… The beach area and restaurants are photo worthy

Beach was beautiful and the food was really good. Staff were very friendly. It did get loud at night on the weekend but it didn’t bother me too much. The AC in the room however didn’t work that well. Some nights were hotter than others but I dealt with it. Overall great experience would definitely recommend to others to visit
