This place has changed, not for the good.

I have been tonthis hotel many times (albeit not since covid) and the changes they've made is not good. The staff are on strike (understandably) and it shows. Inwony come back.

The view from our room was spectacular and everything was perfect. The only issue was that there was not parking available at the hotel as described. We had to park across the street and were told the fee would be the same. It was pretty inconvenient and we were glad we didn’t have much luggage. Also when we left the next morning the fee for parking was actually more.

Property is in need of updating. Room was especially in need of a renovation. Furniture, wallpaper and carpet all showing excessive wear and tear. Bathtub chips unprofessionally sealed and had not been cleaned properly so there was long hair in tub that was not ours! Very poor pillows, bed linen was wrinkled and not fitted correctly. Would NOT recommend this hotel.

The lobby is old and has an aura of past its time. Strike outside the lobby - had to cross it. swimming pool and I think exercise room closed. Amenities closed. Air vent not working at all in bathroom. Kleenex box had two sheets in it. Bathroom floor to tub and etc. crusted with old calking and dirty. Old bathroom. Staff cheerful. View excellent. Guard in lobby projects a suggestion of danger. Parking at $20 / a day, should be free. NO refund for the lack of all the advertised amenities - why not? Bed excellent. Most hotels provide free breakfast - we paid about $20 each for exactly the same food.

I was here with my daughter to see Jeff Dunham’s show and it was great to be so close to the Casino he was at. It was walking distance and so were lots of pubs and restaurants. The walking trails along the Detroit River are really nice.

Hotel is looking a bit run down and despite being across from the riverside park, the area feels unsafe. They do have a security guard at the back entrance (locking door was broken) however I don’t think was there half the time. Not sure if I would want to stay there again. I must say that the staff were very friendly.
