Lovely old homestead in huge grounds. Quiet, tranquil setting. Our hostess was a lovely lady and the dinner and breakfast we had were above average.

Hotel with character

Very nice hotel with lots of character. Beautifully situated close to the mountains and others scenic spots. Very nice and attentive host. We has a great stay!

Lovely quiet destination, magnificent country hous

Pros: Amazing country house, beautiful furniture, relaxing atmosphere
Cons: The food was good, but not great. Nothing to complain about but a lift in quality would fit well with the rest of our stay
Location: Very quiet location in the foothills of Canterbury. Rakaia Girge, Mount Gutt, Methven all within 30 mins drive.
An amazing country house sets the scene for this quiet and beautiful location. Friendly hosts, good food and a homely atmosphere make it perfect for a romantic escape.

Dear Farhad, thank you for yur review. We are sorry you founf Gunyah hard to find. In the 12 years I have owned this estabishment we have only had one other guest who said the same-the problem is that not all gps systems are correct. Neinghbouring farms too have similar problems wiht the gps sending trucks miles away from here. We always advise guests to check directions from our website. We will try and make that message clearer in the Wotif description. Kind regards Gunyah Country Estate
