We were absolutely shocked and disappointed by the condition of this property upon arrival. There was visible mold on the walls, ceilings, and even the couch. One of the ceiling fan lights was actively leaking water onto a bed when it rained—an obvious safety and electrical hazard. The home also had a roach infestation, with bugs found inside utensil drawers, linen storage areas, and later even on our luggage after we had left. The outdoor pool area was significantly dirtier than depicted in the listing photos.To make matters worse, we were unable to access the property for nearly an hour because the host was unresponsive. We tried calling, texting, and messaging through the VRBO app with no reply. We were only able to reach the host after contacting VRBO directly and asking them to intervene.Once we finally got inside and saw the unacceptable condition of the home, we spent over three stressful hours on the phone with VRBO trying to arrange alternate accommodations and a refund. This was not an easy process. The initial representative repeatedly said someone would get back to us “within 24 hours,” which was completely unreasonable considering we had nowhere to stay that night. We only made progress after insisting on speaking with a supervisor.This entire experience was deeply frustrating and unacceptable. The listing was misleading, and the property was unsafe and unsanitary. I strongly caution others to avoid this rental and carefully vet any property before booking
