Everything is at the sister hotel 15 min walk. 1 min max of hot water in shower and our room did not get cleaned once in a 5 night stay, no new towels or more toliet paper. Room does have a/c though.

Emerald Beach Resort
The room was very nice. Our first floor balcony was right on the beach. The staff was wonderful and the grounds are pretty. Location was really close to Charlotte Amalie. 5 minutes from airport. The planes were not a bother at all. Brewers beach is 5 minutes away and a great beach.

Sunset Gardens Guesthouse
Sunset Gardens was nice enough and I would stay there again, but it was not 5 star accommodations. If you stay at a fancy resort I am guessing you will not experience the idiosyncrasies of island life. We stayed 2 nights and really only slept and showered.
