When we opened the door we were greeted by a very strong chemical smell. The room looked ok but the shower had significant black mould. We opened windows and put the bathroom fan on before heading out again. Later when we came back the smell was not as strong but still noticeable. We asked to look at another room but it was just the same - strong chemical smell and black mould in the shower. The manager offered to spray it with bleach but that would have increased the smell. With the windows open and air con on it was bearable. The mould was a concern though and put us off using the pool. We also had a cockroach crawl out of the bed, so overall not a good experience. Disappointing because reviews we read beforehand were positive.

This motel is always a perfect stop over on the way from Newcastle to Melbourne. In good location, close to the Hume hwy. it also has a good pub and bottle shop opposite and a great coffee shop nearby. The staff is super friendly and helpful and it is always pristinely clean.

Dog friendly stay

The staff were friendly. Check in was straight forward. I had my grand pup with me so we had a pet friendly room which was basic but clean. There was no milk in the fridge which was disappointing. The pup could obviously smell previous dogs so was unsettled but the grassed area outside the room was handy.

We have stayed here recently and found the accommodation to be central for what we wanted and very clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We had some issues with the TV which they came and promptly sorted.
