Pleasant hotel. Slightly wonky layout in the room, but everything was there. My room was at the back, so fairly quiet. You get a voucher and two pastries from the cafe across the road, though as this doesn't open until 9am, not an option if you need to leave early. I didn't, and can recommend the pub just down the road, De Oranjerie, which has an excellent beer range and opens late

Absolutely stunning room and very comfortable bed. Great location, a 10 min walk from the central station. The hotel allowed us to leave our bags at the begining and end of our stay so we could explore. It was a very hot night but an easy to operate air cooler was provided. Some noise from the street but that is to be expected given the amazing location. Would happily stay again! Gutted our stay was only 1 night. To top it off, we had vouchers for coffee and pastry from Good Beans across the street and it was lovely, great way to start the day. The cheese and mustard was delicious!

The staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful—friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to nearby attractions and a great local vibe. We really enjoyed the on-site restaurant; the food was excellent and the service top-notch. That said, there were a couple of things that could be improved. Upon check-in, we found a clothing label on the bathroom floor, which made us question the thoroughness of the room cleaning. Also, Saturday night was quite noisy, with loud music and vibrations from the sound carrying into the room—something to be aware of if you’re a light sleeper. Overall, despite those minor issues, we had a pleasant stay thanks to the great staff and atmosphere.

The room was very small. and we could hear the music from the restaurant well into the AM. The staff was very nice however. Nothing to do with the Hotel but BEWARE of Expedia’s room upgrades they are a scam, you actually end up with a worse room and pay more.

Everything about this property was beautiful. We had a lovely attic room and lovely helped carry our luggage up the steep stairs for us. the restaurant down below the hotel had fantastic food and the service in both areas was amazing. They also supplied a coupon for coffee and a pastry across the street each day that we stayed in a funky little coffee shop, as well as providing bikes that we rode every day. I would recommend this little boutique property to anybody

Nice hotel in Jordaan. We were early and wanted to leave our bags as they were running behind and weren’t at there yet, they offered a coffee on them at their partners nearby coffee shop (coupons also available for hotel guests in the rooms, which was a great touch for breakfast) Check in was smooth. Rooms are small as stated but that’s normal for Europe it seems. As the hotel is above a restaurant there is noise coming from below til late in the night (we were there on a holiday and then a Friday) they do provide ear plugs which did help. Steep stairs to get to rooms, again this is fairly normal for Amsterdam. We also disliked was our shower had no door and the carpet in the room looks a little worse for wear. Overall, not a bad place to stay. Thanks again!

Stayed one night and wish I could have stayed longer! This is an excellent choice for short stays and first time visitors to Amsterdam. The room was clean and comfortable and the amenities were well thought out! Loved the modern touches in an old building. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place!

Loved our stay at Hotel Calisto! We got an upgrade to a bigger room before we even got there and they let us store our luggage there when we arrived before check in time and even refilled our water bottles! Room was beautiful and clean and we had a great nights sleep after a busy day in the city. We will definitely be back!!!!❤️❤️

Lovely hotel, perfect location

Just a 1 night stay with another couple on route to Almelo to play in the Almelo City Cup 2025. Spent a lovely morning walking the beautiful streets and canals close to the hotel. A perfect location to see the best of Amsterdam

We did a cycling trip starting and ending in Amsterdam and stayed at the Hotel Calisto at the start and finish. They were outstanding! Not only did they accommodate our bikes but they stored our bike boxes for us until our return at no additional charge. I could go on at length about the high quality service they provided overall but they excelled in every area and the room was large and very clean. In addition the hotel is in the core area and easily walkable to all things downtown. There were numerous restaurant and cafe options and their own restaurant below the rooms was absolutely awesome with the same high level of service the hotel offered. I highly recommend the Hotel Calisto and their restaurant. Note the restaurant is busy and reservations are recommended.

A perfect home-base for a trip to Amsterdam!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Calisto! Check-in was a breeze. We were able to leave our luggage with the staff at the restaurant downstairs before the official check-in time and it was in our room waiting for us when we arrived later that day. The room itself was beautifully decorated and very clean. Even though the hotel is on a lively street, the noise settles down at night so we were able to sleep quite soundly. The location is perfect, with great cafes and restaurants nearby (including the restaurant below). The staff were super friendly. All in all, it was the perfect home-base for our trip to Amsterdam!

Tiny room without tv and front desk. Disconnected from restaurant but a good location Restaurant was lovely yet ear plugs left for use did not drown the loud nusic and noise from other rooms. Reported to hotel but was told the reason was its an old hotel. Stayed 1 night...was uncomfortable and unreasonable for cost of stay

Great location, 15 minute walk from Amsterdam Central station. Used the email confirmation to open the main and room door using my phone which was a great idea. WiFi fine and room nice enough. The area is a very bike busy zone so please be careful when trying to cross the road as they will not stop even if you are on a crossing zone! The coffee shop for breakfast is directly opposite the side street and the chocolate croissants were lovely. Amsterdam central is within a 10-15 minute walk which was great and the Albert Heijn supermarket at the end of the road was great for any essentials! Was a little issue with a power socket which was loose but I informed the hotel as we checked out and they have assured me it would be fixed. We were in room 8 and the street noise wasn’t and issue as we were towards the back. Shower was great powerful and modern. No TV or fridge which was a shame but I suppose it’s just a base to get you around the city. We stayed for 3 nights before catching a plane to Aruba so was perfect for a short city break. Amsterdam is a lovely city and the people were very friendly and the motto is always ‘no problems!’ Love the city, the vibe and the location. You will love it!
