I spent 8 nights at The Grand Amsterdam. The service and location are impeccable. The room isn't overly elegant but it's very comfortable and I enjoyed my stay very much. The bed is great and provides a wonderful night's sleep. There is an overhead "rainfall" shower head but the pressure isn't great and the water temp could be hotter. Still, overall I had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. I was able to get a competitive rate through Expedia and would absolutely return if I were able to again obtain a preferred rate. In fact, I've seen the rate as much as double or more than I was able to get during my trip. For my rate this hotel represented excellent value. At double or more? Not so much.
To recap the service and location are top notch. There are more elegant and grander hotels but Sofitel definitely holds its own in the comfort, service and location departments. My compliments and appreciation to the staff for their good work and making my stay a pleasant one.
