Really liked the hotel, steeped in history with an impressive list of 'first hotel to.....' over the years. It was a great location near the common to explore Boston. The staff were great, would definitely come back again. The only blip was the sofa bed in the room hadn't been changed when we set it up with a false eyelash and nail left to boot. A quick call to reception and this was rectified quickly.

Very nice hotel in a great location. Room was fine although sofa bed was uncomfortable as a bed and a sofa. Only real complaint, though, is that there was a property surcharge that was not well explained, and we were told that in partial mitigation of that fee, we received a $15/day credit for use at the hotel. We later discovered that the credit expired at the end of each day, so we couldn't carry it over and have $30 to spend on day 2. It also couldn't be used at the hotel gift/snack shop. Items at the hotel breakfast or on the room service menu started at well above $15, so the credit was really just a gimmick to get you to spend more money.
