I had high expectations for this resort because of all the positive reviews. Sorry to say, I was underwhelmed.
The good:
Check-in/out was quick.
Food was above average for an all-inclusive.
Getting reservations was easy.
Room service was quick and good.
The entertainment was better than other resorts. Every day or night there was a live band. The evening shows were terrific.
The rooms are spacious and the daybeds on the balcony are a nice touch.
The pool was warm.
Several staff members were stand outs- Sarah and Anjelica at the beach and pool and Alfredo in the sports bar.
The bad:
The hotel is "weathered", but still nice.
A/C didn't work at first, but was quickly dealt with.
The shower had a sewer smell coming from the drain.
The service at the coffee shop is hit and miss. The workers speak little to no English and would often forget to make something.
Not every employee was super friendly. They weren't rude just not as nice as other resorts.
Housekeeping was very inconsistent. They would forget to restock the coffee and refrigerator. Had to call the front desk several times for water, coffee, and pop.
The elevators are sketchy. They are very small, make weird noises and sometimes stop at random floors.
The ugly:
The last full day of our trip, one of the housekeepers stole money from my wife's backpack. The staff was not helpful at all. They said they "couldn't prove the money was stolen". All they had to do was check the cameras to see who entered the room!
