The reception staff was very unhelpful when it came to our room. We had booked a room with double beds and called and verified that we can stay 4 people. They said yes and they can eat at the buffet. When the time came to check in this was not the case. We were scammed out of $900 and the food was meh.

The property was absolutely beautiful. I did have a junior swim out. Suite with a beach view definitely worth the extra money a little disappointed with the buffet choices for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was phenomenal. The beachside restaurant Albatros was also amazing. I did not enjoy the pizza by the pool.

Stay away!!! I’m a believer that you get what you pay for but this was a bit much. There is a reason it’s one of the worst rated resorts in Cancun Day 1 we found our room had no ac. Maintenance man came quickly and banged the unit around a little, told us it will be blowing cold in 15, it did not. We went to the front desk and were offered another room but warned that ac isn’t working in the room either but there was a ceiling fan. We didn’t want to deal with packing up and moving across the resort to another no ac room, plus it didn’t have an ocean view we paid for. Day 2 we left the resort early, when we returned our code wasn’t working for the safe, we were getting an error message. Security came and got it open, said they reset sometimes. We didn’t feel like any $ was missing but we weren’t sure. Well our last full day after spending the day at the pool we came to our hot room and again we’re getting the same error message. They sent someone and they got it open. We broke down how much $ we brought and what we spent. We were missing over $200 in cash. They offered to call the police but we didn’t feel like spending our last evening dealing with it knowing nothing was going to be done. We found out that the error message we were getting was because someone used the master code so our code was reset. I’m sure most the staff our in on this scam. They can easily see who was in our room! Resort caters to locals. If you’re not local you are a target. Stay away!!

I like that the property was a smaller resort compared to newer resorts. The people were friendly but did not make sure we had what we needed or even asked for. For instance, when we checked in, we asked if there was a map or information about the property. They said no. They did not tell us some of the information could be found on some of the screens they had. I found those incidentally. I did not find the info in the room at all. I did not know where the Albatross restaurant was or it's policies (need reservations for the evening). I found the La Fuente buffet was mostly convenient. Some of the food was bland but they did offer some sauces one could add. The porters were spot on with their work. They even broke some of our larger pesos into smaller change for us. Our room maid was thorough and friendly. Maintenance wise, that was obviously going on at the property such as painting, cleaning of facilities, etc. But the Damas bathroom in the lobby only had 1 of 3 toilets with toilet seats. That did not change during our 9 nights there. Our room bathroom door did not close properly as there was some stucco or something getting in the way. It didn't bother me but it seems they would correct that in one of their higher priced rooms. I booked through Expedia because the room listed there was not listed on the resort web site. I prefer to book directly with hotels. I believe this resort allows locals to check in and enjoy the facilities during the day.

Staff was very friendly and everyone was very helpful. Food was good but not many options. Room was decent and clean. AC was also good, my family and I was able to get some good rest. For the price you pay, I say it was excellent.

Beds uncomfortable, no entertainment, jacuzzi and other areas were shut down and under maintenance. Food was ok, staff were amazing.
