This rental was in very poor condition and raised multiple serious safety concerns.The property was extremely dirty upon arrival. There were cracked tiles, exposed wires, holes in the walls, torn and bleach-stained towels, and dingy bedding. There was also a very strong smoke smell of smoke and marijuana, and a missing smoke detector. The light in upstairs bathroom would not stay on either.Due to a safety incident involving someone attempting to enter the rental late at night, I had to urgently leave the property with my family and find alternative accommodations. The host was aware of what happened and even spoke to the person who attempted to enter by mistake, yet never contacted me to reassure us or confirm that we were safe.To make matters worse, Vrbo’s customer service was horrible. Everything was quickly and thoroughly documented, and I followed all Vrbo instructions exactly. Despite this, their representatives were always uninformed, repeatedly told me they couldn’t help, and claimed my documentation was both “required” and “useless” at the same time. The lack of coordination and accountability caused significant, unnecessary stress during an already distressing situation.This experience was deeply distressing, unsafe, and poorly handled from start to finish. I would not recommend this property or relying on Vrbo’s support if something goes wrong.
