I echo other visitors - great location but very calm. Pleasant architecture ,set around a series of courtyards; staff, rooms, food, all excellent. I struggle to find anything to improve . It is not a bargain hotel, but it is good value, it is is mildly annoying to have to re fire up up the wifi every time you come to use it- but clearly I am struggling to find anything that could be improved!

Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the food at the hotel, it was excellent. However our first night we couldn't sleep due to the neighbouring property having 10+ cockerels who were fighting and crowing at all hours, so we were moved to another part of the hotel. The spa was excellent and we had several massages. The staff were friendly and keen to help in any way, from organising taxis and telling the driver in 'Thai' where we wanted to go, or organising various excursions. I would recommend this hotel, just not room 1205!

OK Hotel but too expensive

Pros: Lovely location and pretty gardens. Nice Breakfast around the pool.
Cons: Very small rooms - photos on Wotif very misleading! After spending 4 weeks travelling through Asia and staying in 6 places this was the most expensive
Location: Old City, Night markets
We booked 2 rooms on Wotif - one Deluxe and one Standard. They were identical! The only difference we could find was the Deluxe had a tiny balcony which was almost too small to go on with a very low roof and two tiny chairs. We never used it once in our 5 days! My son's standard room was $50 AUD per night cheaper and was quite a bit bigger and had a better bathroom(ours flooded every time we had a shower and had a ridiculously low beam that my 6 ft husband had to avoid every time he entered!)We had a good time but I did not think this hotel was value for money!

An oasis in the centre of the Old City

Pros: It's easy going nature, the location, the breakfasts and the swimming pool, oh the swimming pool!!
Cons: Wifi reception, see above
Location: Right in the night market street. Tuk Tuks can take you anywhere, very cheaply
We were very pleased with hotel. The only matter which requires attention is the poor wifi reception a key problem when contact with work has to be maintained
