Great hotel! Love the concept. Bonvoy member. My biggest complaint was the slow service in the restaurant. Also, my dry cleaning was lost - they are still looking for it. Beds were heavenly! Spacious bathroom.

I loved the hotel and the room. super clean and the front desk was so welcoming. I did pay extra for a city view and unfortunately had a huge beam going straight across my window so that was annoying but other than that I would totally stay here again!

Dear Godfrey Hotel Management, I am writing to share my deep disappointment following my recent four-night stay at The Godfrey Hotel. As a property that positions itself as a four-star hotel, my experience fell far short of expectations in several key areas. From the moment I arrived, I encountered significant inconvenience. Upon check-in, valet services were unavailable—no one was present to assist with my bags or take my car. When I asked the front desk about it, I was told they didn’t know where the valet was and that they would not take my keys. The staff was dismissive and advised me to either go upstairs and come back later or wait 15–20 minutes until someone returned. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Throughout my stay, I consistently experienced the same lack of service and indifference from staff. Each day, I found myself repeatedly going up and down from my room to locate valet service, often waiting excessive amounts of time—on one occasion, nearly 30 minutes—just to drop off my keys. It was extremely frustrating to handle my own luggage and vehicle without any assistance or courtesy typically expected at a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, the cleanliness of the property left much to be desired. When I attempted to get ice, I discovered that the ice machines on my floor were broken. After calling the front desk, I was told I would need to go up or down two floors to find a working one—information that was never communicated upon check-in.

Tried to go to the rooftop patio after dinner offsite. My daughter was carrying her leftover in case she wanted a late night snack, and we were stopped at the elevator “no food upstairs” we were scolded by security. Turned right around and went up to our room. Odd way to treat paying guests.

Room was quite large and spacious with nice view of Chicago. Room has a bedside table with a small single drawer and no other drawer storage in the room other than using the wardrobe floor or hanging items up with a few hangers. Lots of plugs and outlets available. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Very walkable area for dining options. Bathroom is spacious but shower pressure was lacking.

The location was amazing, our King suite was spacious and clean. However, we were surprised the room didn't have a microwave, as we stayed 3 nights and this was very inconvenient. Aa for staffing, we asked for an early check in several days ahead of our trip, as we had to be at the Cubs game by 3:30. We were told that the hotel would let us know if we could not have an early check-in for any reason.. but no one actually let us know that this WAS NOT going to happen on that date, so when we arrived , we were disappointed to hear we had no early check in. Had to change and get ready for the game in the lobby! The front desk staff ( lady) was unapologetically rude about this and short with us. The young lady working the evening shift was the only staff we saw in 3 days there that actually put on a smile and made effort to make us feel welcome. The day shift, not at all. Looked like they didn't like their jobs. A bad reflection on such a nice hotel... A smile and effort goes a long way for repeat customers.
