This may be one of the most disappointing and depressing rooms I’ve seen in a while. Like a dungeon with hardly enough room to stand in, the pictures did not capture just how tiny this room is. Everything in the room looked tired and in poor shape, while one of the bed lights were ductaped to the wall. Just gave off a very tired and not clean vibe. If you need the absolute cheapest option, I guess this can work but if your expectations are even slightly higher than that, you may be dissatisfied. I walked in and within 5 minutes left to go to another hotel. Whatever you think going into this, lower it by 90% and you’ll be in the ballpark. Unfortunate as the outside and courtyard seemed nice and I liked the look of it walking in, the bedroom just falls so flat I couldn’t do it.

We had a great time. Its easy to get to, accessible, good parking, safe area and walkable to a lot of cool stuff in Chicago. Clean rooms and easy check in and out procedures. The kitchen provides plenty of coffee at all hours. I highly recommend this place.

The villa toscana is an average priced option in a great area. If you’re going to boystown, it’s very walkable and convenient. Also close to the El and busses. The rooms are small, but adequate for two people. There’s a nice kitchen area where you can get cereal or waffles for breakfast. It’s an older house that has been converted, so there are the usual charms of an old house, but it is clean with no major issues. If you’re looking for a prime location and no fuss, this is a great option. We’ve stayed here numerous times and likely will again in the future.

Budget-friendly solo stay in Chicago

Great place for a budget-friendly solo stay in Chicago. Helpful staff, friendly guests, great and plentiful breakfast and clear checkin and checkout instructions. I had the Moroccan room, whilst it is not a modern hotel room, it had everything I need, was spotlessly clean and had bags more charm than a Hilton!

No one to talk to so unusual checking in process but it worked well. Didn’t see anyone else at all. Small room but really dated and really needs a refresh. Looks nice from outside and felt like a safe area close to Wrigley

Desperately needs some TLC

All we wanted was a clean room with a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom. We got a clean room, that’s all. The pictures do not give an accurate representation. Quirky old house is one thing, run down and falling apart is another. This place needs some TLC. We were in #5, and The curtains were ripped and falling off of the rods. The toilet ran all night. The lightbulbs need to be replaced in the overhead light. The mattress was like sleeping in a hole until WE turned it, and when we did we found two support bars for the bed on the floor. The end tables were not put together correctly and were rickety. I changed the water jug after it was empty for 2 days. The cabinets upstairs fell apart and were just left broken and falling down in the hallway with everything in it. There is a desk in the dinning room piled with mail and junk. CLEAN UP. The breakfast was inconsistent. There were rats running around the garden when we came back at night. I have stayed in people’s homes all over the world, I have a great rating on Airbnb. I will not be returning here. The details are what matters and there is no attention to detail here. The best part was talking to the other guests at breakfast.

This is a bed and breakfast in a house. There are no frills, not even soap for the shower in the shared bathroom. I’m was ok with this back when it was a budget stay, but not when they charge 250-300./night as they currently do.
