Rude desk staff

The room was very nice, can't however say the same for the front desk staff. I had reserved through Hotels.com as pay at property. The employee very rudely said "Your reservation was almost canceled, Your card declined." She also said this very loudly in a room full of people. I showed her my reservation said pay at property and she said it isn't their fault I used a third party to book. Then, told me there was a $150 security deposit. I had called the location the previous day to make sure there was NO deposit and was told NO deposit for one night as long as they had my card on file. She was very rude about this and very loud. I was soaked as it was raining outside and I had to sit in the cold lobby for 30 minutes in wet clothes while my friend went to get cash to pay the deposit. If we didn't pay a cash deposit it could take two weeks to get our money back. The stay was great except for this one front desk employee. The location should make sure the third parties know they do not do the pay at property.

The property looked like it was built yesterday. The grounds, inside the hotel, and the rooms looked the just opened up. The staff was friendly. The breakfast the following morning was splendid. No complaint from me.

During the last night of my stay, a dog in another room barked constantly for nearly 6 hours straight! Also, I could smell cigarette and marijuana smoke off and on during my whole stay in the hallway and my room. There was not enough lighting in my room. Despite the additional lamp in the room, it was still too dark.
