Highly recommended, the staff was amazing, the property was amazing, and the facilities and being pet friendly also amazing was booked as an overnight stay after a long journey from the Dominican Republic via Madrid, Paris, and then the Channel Tunnel before a very long drive north to Scotland. The room was so comfortable, the restaurant 1st class and the value for money that included a wonderful breakfast was perfect. 15 minutes from the Channel tunnel so perfect for those who are traveling either way before continuing their journey. Great area, spa was really nice and perfect area for walking

Churchill Guest House is charming. The room was comfortable and I loved the decor, including a beautiful fold out writing desk. Lovely garden view from the window, cosy radiator heating and lots of little touches like cocoa and biscuits and a bath robe. There is a variety of things to have for a self-catering breakfast. The lounge is very comfortable with lots of interesting books on the local area, and I spent an evening there learning about the local history happily ensconced in an over-stuffed chair. The house is decorated in a way that is congruent with the age of the house contributing to an atmosphere of the past, but with all the modern comforts. A wonderful old doll's house and cat and mouse coin bank amongst many other treasures to enjoy looking at. Affordable and comfortable, a short walk from the castle and shops.
