We chose this property for it's character and charm and we stayed for 5 days. The public areas of the property were quite nice, modern and warm. The surrounding area is nice and there are local restaurants and easy to use transport. The room was okay, I expected a bit more character and the photos are a bit different to what I expected. On the downside, we were quite disappointed with the food from the restaurant and the reception staff were absolutely miserable and unhelpful. When I checked out I walked up to the receptionist said "Checking out?" I answered yes and handed over my card. He then asked "Is that it?". No asking how our stay was, no pleasantries. Just completely disinterested. I have to say, I used to work in hotel management and I couldn't believe how rude and miserable the reception staff were, and this refers to every day that we stayed.
