2 night stay for theatre visit

Stayed at this property before. Has ideal location if attending Playhouse theatre. Hotel is reasonably tidy with some areas needing some small touch ups and improvements . Bedroom was clean & tidy but layout has a couple of layout issues Room has desk but no mirror behind it and hairdryer and mirror at down near bedroom door, without a separate power socket for any other hair styling tongs or curlers Reading light on desk has a short cable which doesn’t allow position of lamp at other side of desk where there is more room for the chair Also no in- room safe and/ or refrigerator / chiller

I didnt like the horrible corridoe area to my toom also the carpark right close . My room was not book when i arrived on Friday at 3pm book kn and my friend was on a different floor to me a d not managing her mobility. The younf staff member Yulinia was most helpfulin assisti my friend and myself .i did manage to get a change of room close to mu friends , however this wasn't a double bed as requested . Furthermore it had no heating on at all and the phone did not work so i could not let them know. I'm 70yrs old with arthritic problems and was not about to start getting dressed to trail back downstairs and up otger stairs. Apparently , there were many other customers who had no heating or hot water, sone who had complained others i no off didnt. I complained to receptionists Adam who was most helpul and understanding . however i cannot say,as much for his manager who was giving him a hard time about refunding money. He was actually aggressive and unprofessional in his manner toward his staff. I only received £55 for a refund which i do not think was good enough and the manager made no attempt to apology. You got what you paid for but no hot water for a shower, complained, said was fix but wasn’t. No offer of a change of room either Breakfast was ok but very busy.

Situated well for shopping, dining out and theatres. The room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was tasty. Parking was available across the road at the Omni Centre - getting a code from the hotel to pre-book into the car park reduced the cost.

Nice welcome with advice to have a seat & wait as room ready within an hour. Chose to leave our bags & brave the weather. Really nice surprise of a bottle of prosecco and voucher for 2 drinks to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary and husbands 50th birthday. Thank you so much
