Stayed here because of it's proximity to both 680 and 80, free parking and zero tourist taxes or resort fees while attending a three-day hockey tournament in San Jose (no pay-to-play for us as we're from the North East Bay). Also because of the free breakfast, fridge and microwave, plus dishes and such, and proximity to the Great Mall if we needed to kill time. The breakfast was just okay, but not bad. The little lobby marketplace had a good selection of snacks and microwaveable foods and were available at all hours, which were great when coming in late from the rink when most places were already closed (no alcohol). Weirdly, they wouldn't let me charge a lone ice cream bar to my room one night. I had a deposit on file, but I guess they didn't dare risk my deposit being vaporized by a single ice cream? I had already eaten it while waiting nearly 20 minutes in line to pay for it around 11:40 pm. I just wanted my ice cream and to go to bed. What a waste of time. Another lady was ahead of me but bailed, so I could have waited a lot longer. It took her an eternity to 'ring up' my ice cream once she finally assisted me. There is hot coffee and tea in the lobby at all times. This was really helpful for us coming and going during very early and late hours. Our bathroom had a stinky smell. Wasn't sure if mopped with a dirty mop or bad ventilation. The bathroom door needed a door stop. There wasn't a luggage rack. We had a mobility accessible room, but I still wanted one!
