Fishing Resorts & Hotels in Heraklion

We had a lovely stay at GDM Megaron. Our room was clean and comfortable with beautiful water views, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. The hotel staff was also very helpful in arranging transportation and in connecting me with local vendors for our excursions, which made planning our stay much easier. The location is convenient and within walking distance of several sites and restaurants, and the pool is lovely after a long day of sight seeing. Breakfast was not included with out stay, which would have been a nice addition. We also wished there were convenient dinner restaurant option at the hotel for evenings when we returned late from excursions. One thing to note--the elevator is VERY small! If you are claustrophobic, it may be a little uncomfortable, especially with luggage. So keep this in mind. Overall, GDM Megaron is a beautiful, clean hotel with great views, friendly and helpful staff, and in a convenient location. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Hotel was beautiful and in a great location to the port, old town etc. Also had free parking which was a nice bonus. We spent a lot of time in the pool which was much needed respite from the heat. Only items to improve here was a bit of a disconnect between the day reception staff and the night reception staff re: our request for late checkout. Night staff said yes, then the next day, the day staff said no - so it made us scramble last minute to pack everything up. Otherwise - a great stay and would recommend!

Good for a 1 night stay if you need easy access to the airport. Recommend ear plugs as planes are very loud throughout the night
