A hidden gem for any medieval castle hotel fan. We’ve stayed at many castle hotels and Langley Castle stuck out for its authenticity and unique details, especially the 14th century window niches. Make sure to reserve a suite with a window niche like Greenwich Room. Dinner is a nice occasion with drinks starting in the drawing room before descending to the dining room for the meal. Free castle history tour in the morning.

The hotel makes an immediate impression on first sight, occupying an impressive location in well-maintained grounds. Our accommodation was spacious and well appointed, albeit its cleanliness can best be described as ok. The restaurant is well presented even if the carpet shows a few silver snail trails. Breakfast was on par for the standard of the hotel while the fine dining offering experienced was of questionable value. Overall, the hotel reflects a slick business model.

The Langley Castle hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff could not be more accommodating, friendly and helpful. It's been a long time since we experienced such great service and felt so welcomed! We were offered help with our bags, which given the narrow and winding stairs, would be a good option for anyone with a heavy or large suitcase. I believe there were over 20 winding stairs (and not always a hand rail), so if one has any climbing difficulties, be aware of this. Our suite was lovely, as pictured and the A/C was fabulous, especially in a heatwave. The bed was extremely comfortable too. It was nice to have tea, coffee, a carafe of water and some nibbles at the ready. The TV was fiddley and the picture wasn't great, but not that big a deal for us. The breakfast was fine and there was a nice selection of options. However, it was so slow that our coffees went cold waiting - but staff immediately brought fresh when this was noted to them. The bartender was also friendly and helpful. We had a casual meal and that was the only thing I would not have again. My burger whilst hot, was tremendously overcooked, dry and tasteless - almost as if it had been reheated by microwave. I didn't finish it. My partner's fish, although plentiful was greasy. The apple crumble was dry and had the smallest scoop of ice cream I've ever seen in my life. We paid 70 pounds for one of the worst meals we've had. Stay for the experience, but probably eat somewhere else!

It was an amazing and special experience. The Castle room had all the charm of sleeping in a Castle plus all the common elements. The staff were super friendly and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!

The castie hotel is absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful bedroom , very convenient for popping out with the dog . Staff were welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately the guest WiFi was not working and we were not told . We were unable to contact family, complete important legal tasks , or watch the tv. The ‘ superior’ menu food was very disappointing

Beautiful castle and location. Our room was lovely and we had a good experience dining in the atmospheric castle dining room. The decor of the bar and lounge were also very atmospheric, just as you would expect from a castle and enhanced the experience. The grounds were good to explore. We joined the "history tour" of the castle and this was a very enjoyable and informative 40 minutes, including going up to the tower.

Maravilhoso o castelo e o quarto PercyRoom, onde ficamos! O castelo é’ lindo, com salões e salas ricamente decorados! O chá da tarde foi o melhor que já tomamos !!!! Jantar e café da manhã também excelentes!!! A equipe de funcionários é’ extremamente atenciosa e agradeço em especial a Nellie funcionária que nos atendeu na chegada e gentilmente nos levou até a capela e parte superior do castelo pois não poderíamos ficar para o tour do dia seguinte às 10h15 Tudo mais que perfeito nesse hotel que é’ um castelo de contos de fadas!

A unique experience with nice friendly staff and an excellent restaurant. We had a fabulous evening dinner, preceded by drinks in the impressive drawing room in the heart of the castle. A very relaxing place to spend a couple of nights. With lovely grounds and a good variety of birdlife. (Plus the resident Peacocks!)

We had such a lovely stay at Langley Castle Hotel. The staff were genuinely warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived and made the whole experience feel really special. We stayed in the Percy Room, which was full of charm and character while still being very comfortable. Staying in an actual castle was such a unique experience. We also loved walking the nearby trails and grounds — it was peaceful and beautiful, especially in the evening. Dinner at the hotel was excellent, with great food and a really nice atmosphere, and breakfast the next morning was just as enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable stay and somewhere we’d happily return to

Beautiful property and unique experience staying in the castle. The staff were very friendly and welcoming - they looked after us very well. Beware some of the castle rooms require you to go up a spiral staircase which is a bit of a climb with a suitcase. The staff very helpful and will help with luggage tho. Evening meal was adequate only as there was limited options which interested us. However breakfast was amazing cooked to order and great variety to suit all diets. Do go on their history tour of the castle gives an opportunity to go up onto the roof and see the chapel

We had a really lovely stay at Langley Castle. The highlight was definitely the restaurant: the food was amazing, and breakfast was excellent too. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall it was a fantastic short break and we'd happily come back.

We stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast on the morning of departure. Anyone with mobility issues needs to be careful about which room they book, of those in the castle I think that there are a couple on the first floor, accessed by a fairly grand staircase. The rest require a climb up a narrow and steep spiral staircase. The room we stayed was up said spiral staircase and was spacious and clean, well furnished and with a large en-suite. The lady on reception provided a great welcome and helped during our stay, special mention also goes to the lady who gave us and other guests a castle tour. In terms of dining we found a limited menu and an incapacity to vary it in the slightest. Also the staff were less than attentive.

One of the highlights of our Northumberland road trip, Langley Castle felt like such a treat, packed with character, history and atmosphere. We ate really well, and there’s something magical about waking up in the grounds of a centuries old castle; it made the whole stay feel genuinely memorable and special. The only small downside for us was accessibility. My mother has limited mobility and found the stairs difficult, so we used the service lift to reach the drawing room. Even so, in a six hundred year old castle you can only expect so much, and the team were helpful when we needed a bit of extra support whicih made it even more fun. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend it. Thankyou!!
