As the building was undergoing extensive renovations there was a bit of noise which was uncomfortable during daytime naps. The pool area is very relaxing but the bar isn’t able to sell alcohol. They do make delicious food though. This hotel doesn’t have the wow factor of bigger hotels but it is clean and neat and very close to shops and the beaches. We enjoyed our stay here. Not too expensive and a nice place to rest your head after a big day out.

Air conditioner was so loud and didn’t work very well, wi-fi connected but was so slow it didn’t work at all, room phone and some power outlets didn’t work. Room was fairly tidy, beds were comfortable enough. Very average experience.

Good location

Pros: Location, staff, felt safe
Cons: Room could do with a simple upgrade to soft furnishings and cleanliness, A full length mirror would be desirable, plus a light next to the safe.
Location: Shops, beach, restaurants and zoo are all within walking distance. Nice open parks available for walks
Good location, pleasant pool area, excellent staff. Room rather dull and shabby, however, with some minor changes to the detail of the rooms, I would stay again

Great location. Only thing I would change next time is to ask for a room pool side. We were on the road side of the hotel which was really noisy. Aside from that really enjoyed the stay.

Good value hotel close to Waikiki Beach

Pros: Close to everything in Waikiki.
Cons: Décor was a little late 80's and could have been updated. While being clean, the fixtures and fittings were a little tired looking.
Location: Short 5-10min walk to all the major hotels and things to do. 10min walk to Waikiki beach
Hotel location was perfect. Décor was a little tired and out dated but was good value for the money especially compared to some of the other hotels in the area. Being able to get a queen bed and 2 singles in the same apartment as well as basic cooking facilities was good in this price range.

Very good location

No doubt it's a budget hotel but one that we would stay at again. Very comfortable room and beds with great cooking facilities. Just needs quieter aircons.

Great location, friendly staff

Pros: Location very close to beach and main shops. Great to be able to make breakfast and lunch and separate beds for the kids. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: Noise on street side- perhaps double glazing on the lower levels , ventilation if you want to cook in the room.
Location: Walk to beach, local bus to Diamond Head trail and Palace etc. Hire paddle and surfboards, complimentary shuttle to Ala Mona shopping centre, Tours.
Hotel is located very close to beach and main shops. Great to have the in room kitchen, although no ventilation for cooking. Pantry grocery shop 5 mins away in the same street was a bonus. Towels (and beach chairs) provided for beach each day were also useful as was the in hotel concierge for tour bookings. There was traffic noise from street below but this was to be expected given the location so close to everything and we got used to it after a few days. We loved our stay at the Aqua Bamboo and found all the staff very helpful and friendly. We were a family of four- we took two teenagers who liked being able to walk to get food or shop or hire a paddle board on the beach so we'd highly recommend it for that age group, particularly as we were able to get twin beds for them separate to our room.
