If you want to be amongst the life of bali this is the hotel to stay at! Close to bars, restaurants and shopping! You literally walk out of the hotel and you are in the middle of the bali nightlife! Prime location if you want to be in the middle of the bali night-life. Do not recommend for children as it is almost impossible to not be surrounded by ciggarette smell. Perfect for the party goers, couples or friend trips.

Pool was fantastic. Breakfast was meh...the extra $35000 rupiah ($3) to have bacon was a bit much. Every day breakfast was the same. (Same fruit, same choices so it gets tiring. The area around the hotel is a bit run down, did see rats each night walking back to hotel from areas near open fields or garbage bags. Every store in area is either a massage parlor, tattoo shop, counterfeit store, or a convenience store. The rooms are very very small, big enough really for one person. Two will feel tight. Lack of storage space for luggage, clothing drawers, or shelves make this an ideal hotel for a max 2 night/transit stay. Grab (asias version of uber), to the airport was $50000 rupiah or $5/cad. The walls are thin so you will hear others. During my stay, you can smell smokers and old tobacco every where. The room was cold, and floor was freezing so use the slippers. The guest staff were helpful in changing sheets and do try to accomodate. Request upper floor (3rd or 4th floor if you can).

we only stayed for one night and had to leave very early in the morning, staff were fantastic (service desk is open 24/7) and helped book us a cab at 4:30am to go to the airport. fast check-in and fast check-out, only problem we had was our room was on the ground floor and outside our little window was a side road and every time someone walked past you could hear someone's dogs barking like they were in your room.

Property is so outdated, needs a lot of Maintenace. It is very close to next door properties. One side they were renovating, working till hours of morning. other side they had plenty of dogs, which at times they would not stop barking, also stunk as they did not clean their pens often. Also room was a bit small, shelves were dusty, shower was moldy and smelt of drainage. Breakfast was not much, had to pay extra for bacon. Only had 1 juice variety, water, tea and coffee. Danishes were not fresh. They had bread for toast and about 4 different dishes such as rice, soup etc. There was hardly anyone in the pool bar, at one stage a guest had to get out of the pool and go ring for service. they did not have any life guards. Would not recommend this hotel if you have young children. This place is ok if you travelling on a budget.

Review: Sun Island Hotel & Spa, Legian I recently stayed at the Sun Island Hotel & Spa in Legian. Overall, the hotel was generally clean and the staff were reasonably friendly. However, there were a few disappointments during my stay. The TV in the room wasn’t working, which was a letdown, and the pool area appeared a bit rundown and in need of maintenance and updating. While the location is convenient and the rooms were tidy, the amenities could use some attention to bring the property up to its full potential.
