We have stayed at Formby Hall for the last 15 years and have always been happy and left positive feedback. Unfortunately, our last 2 night stay was dreadful. The room was incredibly dark, it was impossible to read a book, it was difficult to get dressed, put on make up etc. I made reception aware of the problem and asked for an extra light. We also asked for a couple of clean glasses as the ones in the room were filthy and obviously had not been changed from the previous guests. On returning from our day out nothing had been done and our room was a mess. A piece of paper had also been pushed partly under the door asking my husband and I not to smoke in the room. We have NEVER EVER smoked, and i found this highly insulting. We could not wait to leave. This is a disgusting way to treat long standing regular customers.

Big let down - but spa treatment pretty good

Booked a suite for my birthday and hoped for a great experience with the best room they had and was so let down! TV didnt work (bed view one), the light up “fireplace” didnt do anything at all, bed mattress kept sliding down bed making annoying sleep. Hoped they’d redeem with the full day spa and afternoon tea - but stale dry sandwiches (expected some kind of effort for price). Have to say though the breakfast was pretty decent and the actual massages me and my girlfriend had very good - regret booking the room and should maybe have just got massage without all the bells and whistles because it wasn’t great. To consider driving home to sleep and go back next day for treatment after booking best room doesn’t set a good tome.

Lovely Hotel

From the lovely welcome at reception to the wonderful service in the restaurant. Joe , Katie and the sisters in the restaurant all so well mannered and professional. Rooms were spacious and comfortable spotlessly clean. Bathroom was huge and shower excellent. The comfy beds and general facilities make this hotel lovely and I look forward to visiting again when I’m working in Liverpool.

We always come to formby hall as a couple for that little break however this time we brought the kids along. We done the Halloween party and then some time in the pool followed by a nice chill in the room. The fairway grill were unable to give us a reservation on restaurant as it was fully booked so we opted for room service from the lounge and patio menu. Shame about being unable to be seated in restaurant area other than that nice overall experience. Room was perfect too.

Very average. Food was not great, room smelled of sewage, teapot had floating things in it. Probably had never been cleaned. Ever………. Definitely would not refurnish. Location was good, easy ingress egress. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful
