Check in was very busy around 3pm with queues out of the door at times, we had called earlier and left our bags then returned to check in. We were told if bags not brought to room in ten minutes after successfully checking in to give reception a call which we did ,it was nearly 45 minutes before the bags arrived which was frustrating as we wanted to change and go out. To be fair the staff we spoke to were all helpful and seemed to be doing their best in hot conditions but they seemed swamped. One member of staff we spoke to said it was ridiculously busy . When we returned in the evening we couldn’t sleep as the air con was so noisy , it sounded like a hair dryer on full so we turned it off. The breakfast in the morning was very good and the hotel looks beautiful and is an excellent location for Hyde Park etc but maybe they need to stagger check in times to cope with demand at busy times perhaps ?

I liked the building and breakfast was good. The size of the room was very small, the shower shield in the bathroom was useless. The whole room got wet when I showered. Would have liked to have opened the window. Much of the decor needed refreshing. The staff were all very friendly.

Couldn't have a shower as couldn't get in due to the very narrow door. Shower drained slowly anyway so my wife had to keep turning it off to prevent a flood. Only one small bottle of water between two and two packets of ginger biscuits. Bed comfortable although having a heavy tog duvet in the height of summer is an odd choice.

London stay.

Good location, the hotel public areas are steeped in history which we did appreciate but the guest room even though it was supposed to be an executive room was very small and claustrophobic, we had a stairs to climb inside our room to get up to the bedroom which was off putting as could be a safety issue. The shower was over the bath but the bath was raised so getting in and out was challenging. The bathroom floor tiles were all loose and moved under your feet and the shower didn’t have a proper screen so the floor was soaking after showering another safety issue.

The location is great to both Tubes and buses and we would stay in this area again. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the hotel. It's looking run down. The room was very small, since we paid extra for the "deluxe". Headboard was torn and worn down, towels are thin. The wifi was horrible and non secure, which made it difficult for my husband and I to do some work on our laptops. There was no draft beer and only offered Corona in the bar. We thought this was going to be somewhere we would spend our evenings, but didn't feel inviting and couldn't get food there.

Property wasn't the cleanest and the daily room service was subpar. We dropped off our luggage at bag check prior to checking in and the kept them in an employee bathroom.

Lady in charge at breakfast is the only reason it's a 3/5 and not a 1 or a 2. Bedroom tiny , bathroom tiny, terrible view , nothing deluxe about the room at all. No room to swing a cat. Mentioned it to reception and they said there small as it's a boutique hotel! Never heard such tosh at all. Was said to be sound proofed room on advert, but the floor boards above our room (103) creaked all morning from 430am or onwards noisy guests moving around at that time is ridiculous! Kept us awake so didn't get a good kip at all. Bathrooms downstairs were disgusting ! Cleaner came in when I was in there and she said they are always in a mess as guests leave toilet roll (used) and rubbish all over the place. Not what I expect at all to hear from your staff.

The rooms are dated and the first room was not acceptable. It was next to on going construction outside and had an obstruction blocking the window. The staff accommodated and moved us to another room. Overall though the rooms are not great quality, you get what you pay for. The bathrooms have rust, and the caulking needs to be redone.

Beautiful hotel but very small "superior"room. Had to crawl onto end of bed to get in! Only 1 hand towel, no floor mat, broken shower, shower gel empty, tiny high level window which was open on arrival. Room freezing! Door sticks open which is a fire risk. However, breakfast was great & slept ok. Wouldn't stay again as the little things mean a lot!
