Quiet, easy to stay at hotel!

An easy to stay at hotel in a great location very close to Borough Market and Tate Modern and all that the Southbank has to offer. Breakfast was great if a little chaotic with too many people in a relatively small space - get there early to avoid this! Having said this the selection of food was good for me (gluten free) and my husband,(veggie). The movie themeing of the hotel feels a bit OTT in places but it is clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Would stay here again with no worries but always opt for a room at the back, with a view - much quieter than other London hotels we've stayed in. Some great pubs and food on offer in close proximity to hotel.

Terrible experience

The check in experience was horrendous, I paid for the room weeks in advance, I was reassured that day around 12 pm that I can come anytime to checking in after 3 pm, there is no specific time, and after the Warner bros studio tour London I went to check in around 11:20 pm and my room was given away even though I paid for it in advance and I was reassured that checking can be done anytime after 3pm. During this situation I was told to wait, and I waited for over an hour, even though I kept demanding explanation, wasn’t given much. In the end they sorted a room out that was not very clean? The bathroom was dirty and the whole experience was really not nice. Terrible, would not recommend staying here

Stayed here before and the hotel and staff are lovely. Nice and quirky hotel with the style of a film set. Only issue is in this weather, the air con was either not working or just ineffective. We stayed for 3 nights and after the 1st night I intended to say something, however there was a queue at check in/reception so I waited for later. Again, it was busy so I left it. After the 2nd night I just gave it up as a bad job! I would return but would expect the air con to be resolved

The staff was really helpful and young. The decor was fun. My room and common areas were clean. Here are my complaints: there were no hand towels or face towels. The room can get warm and no fan is provided. And no mini fridge!!! C’mon, it’s 2025!

Brilliant Stay!

My husband and I wanted to get away for a weekend in London. We were going to see a show at The Southwark Playhouse and were looking for hotels nearby. This one kept popping up. We couldn’t ignore the fabulous reviews so we decided to book and were so glad we did. This is a real gem of a hotel. First of all the staff really make this place special. Everyone we met at reception were friendly, helpful and just really, genuinely lovely. The staff in the breakfast room were also really nice and helpful. The hotel itself is a hoot! We loved the Hollywood themed decor. Everything was very clean and in good order as well. The bed was honestly The Most Comfortable Hotel Bed we’ve ever slept on - we got the Queen sized so there was lots of room. The amenities in the room were ok but I do lament the loss of complimentary biscuits in most hotel rooms now. However, there was free movie style popcorn on offer at specific times during the day. Breakfast was superb. Continental with a good range of pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit and veggies. The yoghurt was particularly tasty as were the little chorizo bites. The location is perfect for exploring Southwark and The South Bank. Borough market is pretty much around the corner and there are lots of good restaurants nearby. This is a hotel we want to stay in again. It really was perfect. Oh and we had a great view of The Shard from our window.

Funky hotel in a great south bank location

We loved this property, it had a funky theatre vibe with clean, modern room. Ours had a ‘Wicked’ musical theme. Breakfast was great with an extensive selection on offer. From the moment we arrived every staff member we met was helpful and very cheerful. In particular the breakfast room staff worked extremely hard to keep everything replenished m.

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise! My friend and I weren't familiar with this chain of hotels before this trip, but after staying here we agreed that we'd definitely be looking for ibis hotels on future trips! We were able to check in super early which was very much appreciated as we had just landed from our 9 hour flight and were desperate to settle in and clean up. The room was so fun--we didn't realize this location had a theatre theme before arriving so this was such a fun surprise--and comfortable, and the main floor had so many sitting areas to relax if we wanted a change of scenery. Oh, and the breakfast! Oh my gosh, the breakfast was so good. The spread they had was amazing and so yummy and was constantly being replenished and tidied by the staff. The dining room was also huge, so it was easy to find a spot to sit and enjoy our meal each morning. Overall, an amazing stay with a super friendly staff! We'll definitely be looking out for ibis hotels in the future!
